A BASINGSTOKE museum is in the running to win a prestigious award.
Milestones Museum has been announced as a finalist in the School Travel Awards 2018 in the Best Museum Visit category alongside the likes of Cadbury World, the British Museum, Natural History Museum and the V&A .
The museum last year hosted thousands of children on its educational visits programme.
The School Travel Awards, which are run by School Travel Organiser magazine, shine a spotlight on the best providers in the UK and overseas that deliver an exceptional experience of learning outside the classroom.
The key aim of the awards is to reward providers that go the extra mile to offer exciting educational trips and visits for primary and secondary schools. These trips provide invaluable opportunities for students’ personal development, self-esteem and resilience and make a major contribution to their acquisition of knowledge and development of skills.
The finalists in each of the 17 categories have been voted for and nominated by teachers and educational visit coordinators across the country.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by TV broadcaster and newsreader Fiona Bruce at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, on Friday, 16 November.
