SCHOOLCHILDREN and WI groups have joined forces with community groups to remember the fallen ahead of the Armistice.

An exhibition, Remembering our WW1 heroes through art and archives, will take place at All Saints’ Church in Upper Clatford on November 10.

Pupils from Clatford C of E Primary School will be displaying recent work they have undertaken on the First World War, while Girl Guides are to contribute to a church path display.

WI members have also been hard at work, along with local art classes, to create a commemorative artwork, together with individual pieces.

There will also be displays drawn from archives relating to local people who both died and survived.

Meanwhile, amateur dramatic group, the Burdock Players will be performing poetry from the Great War as well extras from timely plays.

The event, in aid of the Royal British Legion, will run from 10am to 4pm, with a short service on the day commencing at 4pm.
