THE fruits of a concert in which groups united to delight an audience have been presented to a charity.
Andover Young Carers has received a cheque for £2,200 from the United in Song concert held in October at St Mary’s Church, Andover, with St Peter’s Church, Goodworth Clatford also receiving £1,600.
A mixture of classical, modern, and traditional songs from around the globe featured in the concert with performers from Romsey Male Voice Choir and Rookwood School.
Concert organiser Jane Eastwood, also churchwarden at St Peter’s Church, said: “It was such an uplifting evening of song. We were all captivated by the talents of the young performers and the rousing performance of the male voice choir.
“It was particularly heart-warming that the schoolchildren were helping their less fortunate contemporaries and we could feel the church was filled with people who cared about the plight of the Andover Young Carers.”
