DELAYS are easing after adverse weather conditions affected train services from Andover railway station this morning.
With some trains leaving around 40 minutes late this morning and alterations to the service, this is believed to be due to the adverse weather.
Now, services travelling to London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids after 12.24pm are scheduled as on time, but South Western Railway warns disruption is expected throughout the day.
Train services travelling through Basingstoke have also been experiencing disruption due to trespass on the railway, but this is expected to end by 12.30pm.
⚠️ *NEW 29/11* Following trespass on the railway at Basingstoke, train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 12:30 29/11https://t.co/imkvCCexC2

A statement on the National Rail website said: “Today, a band of adverse weather will cross the coastal areas of the South Western Railway network bringing some rain and blustery wind conditions. From 05.00 gusts will start to build towards 50 mph, with speeds increasing to up to 60 mph in some areas.
“As a result, a 50mph emergency speed restriction has been applied by Network Rail from 04:00 until 10:00 between Eastleigh to Weymouth and Salisbury to Pinhoe. The strongest winds will be experienced between 06.00 and 09.00.”
