AN EVENING of entertainment has helped raised thousands of pounds for a hospice.
The Anton Rotary Club has donated £2,000 to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice following its variety show in October.
The club had heard that the hospice sought much-needed funds not only for the development of its new extension now in progress but also to provide items and equipment that periodically break down and need repairing or replacing.
Dr Alex Armstrong, president of Anton Rotary Club, was pleased to be able to support the hospice with the donation that past president Barry Hawgood gave to Michele Gard from the hospice, stating that “the hospice needs as much support as possible in view of Andover’s growing population”.
Michele said: “We are delighted to receive this donation from Anton Rotary Club. Thanks to their hard work, the variety show was a great success. We are very grateful to everyone who took part and attended the evening. This generous donation means we can care when care is needed most.”
