A NEW health, home and beauty store has opened in Andover town centre today.

Savers opened its doors on the high street this morning, with Andover Town mayor Councillor Barbara Long cutting the ribbon.

The chain, which stocks branded items from toiletries, perfumes to laundry powder, has been in the unit for a month working on getting the shop ready for the big opening.

Area manager Charlie Gratton said: "It's well worth coming to Andover, it's got lots of potential for us.

"When people come round they will see the prices, we are very competitive with prices they should be able to save money.

"The high street is hard to work in at the moment. We are not a pop up shop we are here for the long term, we can see the future in Andover."

Cllr Long was given a tour of the shop before it opened its doors at 9am, and wished the staff all the best for success.

She said: "I think it is great, it just looks like a fantastic store, I'm sure they will do really, really well here.

"It's lovely to see another shop opening in Andover."
