A DAY of festive fun was had at an annual charity Christmas Fayre.

On Saturday, The Abel Foundation held the event, featuring a variety of gifts and treats, at The Rockhouse, in London Street.

The fayre was organised by Claire Noakes, mum to four-year-old Abel who has mitochondrial disease - a chronic genetic disorder which presents differently in each individual.

The charity was set up to support other families through the disease, inspired by the journey Claire, and husband Tony, have been on since Abel was born in September 2014.

Alongside the opportunity to shop, Father Christmas made an appearance, giving out lucky dip gifts to those who have been good this year.

This event was opened by The Southern Jacobites Pipe Band, with attendees enjoying a free glass of mulled wine on entrance.
