A GRANT has been awarded to a scheme that is designed to help older people susceptible to social isolation and loneliness.
The Test Valley Live at Home Scheme has received a £500 grant from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) to help to run its weekly Cheerleading Club, aimed at people aged 60 and over.
In total £8,650 has been awarded to 17 community groups across Hampshire for a range of local projects.
The grants are administered by the HIWCF, with Hampshire County Council which sets the criteria for the awards.
The club takes place at Andover Leisure Centre on Wednesday mornings at 10.30am.
