IT WAS a golden day for Icknield students as they returned with a host of medals.
On February 14 the lower secondary class took part in the Hampshire Panathlon championships in Portsmouth.
The youngsters won gold medals for every event that they took part it, such as New Age Kurling, table top cricket, javelin, long jump and mixed team relay races with pupils from other schools.
The children were the overall winners of the championships and in 2020 they will be representing Hampshire in the regional competition.
A school spokesperson said: “The children demonstrated amazing sportsmanship, cheering on their friends and children from other schools, introducing themselves to their opponents and shaking hands at the end of their matches and races.”
