THERE was a host of eggs-cellent fun in Enham on Saturday.

Leslie and Tim Francis, who run Enham Village Shop and Post Office, held an Easter fun day.

There were activities for young and old alike to take part in such as guess the number of coins in a jar and lucky dips.

A colouring competition was also held with children able to showcase their artistic flair, with Wynifred and Ebony crowned as winners, and Elliot, Henry, Flo and Sophie collecting an Easter egg too.

“Tim and I just wanted to do something for the Bank Holiday weekend for the children and for the residents if they wanted to come down,” Leslie said.

“It was lovely, the kids were all just having fun, painting eggs, painting bunnies and colouring.”

But the stars of the show were donkeys Buster and Oakley, who live near Hurstbourne Tarrant with their owner Penny Eighan, who Leslie thanked for her appearance on the day.

The duo were even wearing their Easter bonnets.

“They were just delightful donkeys, so well behaved and the children adored them,” Leslie added.

Homemade cakes were also on offer and Madeleines baked by Tim for the event.

During the day, donations raised £223 for The Donkey Sanctuary.
