AN ANDOVER man who was caught with cannabis has been fined.

Ian Harbour, of Galahad Close, was found in the possession of the class B drug on February 13 while in the town.

On August 6 at Basingstoke Magistrates Court 62-year-old Harbour indicated a plea of guilty.

He was fined £80 and must pay £85 court costs and £30 victim surcharge.

The drugs were also directed to be forfeited and destroyed.

MAGISTRATES have given a driver penalty points on his licence after he was caught without valid insurance.

Ciprian Ciobanu was spotted on the A303 at Andover driving a Vauxhall Astra on February 5, this year.

At Aldershot Magistrates Court on Monday the 24-year-old was fined £660 and slapped with six points on his licence.

Ciobanu, of Gresham Road, Hounslow, must also pay £85 court costs and £66 victim surcharge.

AN ANDOVER man has been fined for resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty.

Benjamin Roome, of Errington Road, resisted arrest from PC Tapper while at Enham Arch Retail Park on July 20.

At Basingstoke Magistrates Court on August 8 the 30-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Roome was fined £80 and must pay a £32 victim surcharge.

A MAN who attacked a police constable has been ordered to pay compensation.

Jake Hughes, of The Hexagon, assaulted Lindsey Campbell while she was exercising her functions as an officer.

The incident happened in Black Swan Yard, Andover, on August 6.

On August 7 at Basingstoke Magistrates Court Hughes indicated a plea of guilty.

He also admitted to stealing stationary worth £105.92 from W H Smith on the same day.

The 28-year-old was told to pay compensation worth £75 to his victim.

AN OVERTON woman who was behind the wheel but did not have valid insurance has been fined.

Kelly Goodall, of Poultons Close, was spotted on Charlton Road, in Andover, driving a Vauxhall Zafira on February 5, this year.

On Monday at Aldershot Magistrates Court the 32-year-old admitted to the offence.

Magistrates handed her six points on her driving licence and fined £207.

She must also pay £85 court costs and £30 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have disqualified a man who was caught driving while over the alcohol limit.

Simon Hayes, of Settler Close, was spotted on East Street behind the wheel of a blue Vauxhall on July 21.

A breath test revealed he had 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

At Basingstoke Magistrates Court on August 6 Hayes pleaded guilty to drink driving.

The 32-year-old from driving for 40 months and ordered to undergo a maximum of 10 days rehabilitation.

He must also pay £85 court costs and £90 victim surcharge.
