BEING a public servant is a challenging role that many councillors balance alongside existing jobs and livelihoods.
With the debate at Andover Town Council currently simmering regarding attendance, the Advertiser has been investigating how often the current cohort of public representatives are turning out for meetings.
Since the local elections took place in May, there have been a total of 17 Andover town council meetings, including full council and various committee meet-ups.
Different councillors sit on different committees and therefore not all of them have been required to attend the same number of meetings.
The below information on councillor attendance has been gathered from the minutes of each of those meetings to have been held since May, as well as discussions with the town council clerk.
The figures have been updated to reflect last night's Budget and Staffing and full council meetings.
