COFFEE, quizzes and an evening with a psychic have helped an Andover pub raised hundreds of pounds over the course of the last few weeks.
The Foresters Arms, in London Street, has hosted a number of fundraisers since the start of last month, enabling customers to help generate cash for a number of causes.
Landlady Anne Evans organised the events, the first of which took place on September 10 when medium Vonnie Lacey came to town, with £120 raised for Naomi House and Jacksplace on the night.
A horse racing charity night on October 1 then generated £422 for the Dreams Come True children’s charity, before £125 raised at the pub’s MacMillan Coffee Morning on October 5.
And another £55 was raised at a charity quiz night last week in aid of Winton House Care home.
Customers sang the pub’s praises following the events.
One said: “Anne always thinks of quirky ways to help the local community to raise money.”
Another added: “Foresters Arms strives to aid the local community especially with fund raising. Please keep up the good work and ideas.”
A spokesperson for Naomi House and Jacksplace said: “Naomi House would like to thank the staff of the Foresters Arms for continuing to help raise funds for us.”
