A MAN grabbed a 22-year-old woman and tried to kiss her on the lips during a sexual assault in Andover this week.

The incident was reported to have taken place in Charlton Road at around 6.30pm on Monday, October 28.

The woman was riding her bike when she was stopped by a man, said to be in his 50s, asking for directions to the train station.

As she replied, he grabbed her hand and kissed her on the cheek before attempting to kiss her on the lips.

He then shouted at a couple who were walking past, allowing the woman to step back and cycle away from the culprit.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, of a medium build and aged in his 50s. He was wearing a shirt and a long dark jacket and had dark hair and light grey stubble.

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
