WILTSHIRE police are investigating an incident of “fraud and deception” in which a man acquired money from a supermarket cashier.
The incident took place on Friday, January 3, at Tesco, in Amesbury, at around 7pm.
A man entered the London Road store and bought an item for £2.50 at the kiosk area.
He then asked to swap money with the cashier, which “resulted in him leaving with a much larger amount of cash than he had before”, police say.
Officers have since released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
A statement from police read: “Do you recognise this man we would like to speak to in relation to an incident of fraud and deception at Tesco’s in Amesbury?
“If you recognise this person please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54200002004.”
