A STRETCH of road between Andover and Whitchurch has been closed due to emergency flooding works.
Hampshire Highways confirmed on Friday afternoon that the B3400, just west of Hurstbourne Priors, was shut so that Southern Water could carry out the works.
A diversion is in place, with drivers be re-routed south through Longparish and Forton to the A303, or north via Walworth Road and Picket Piece.
Hampshire Highways are yet to confirm how long the road will be closed for.

Stagecoach, however, says it understands the closure will remain in place for “at least a couple of days”.
The number 76 route is affected, with buses having to travel between Whitchurch and Andover via the A303 instead.
Stagecoach says this does mean journeys will take “a little longer” and have apologised for the inconvenience.
