A LUDGERSHALL medical practice has closed its doors today (Tuesday) for a deep clean amidst coronavirus fears.

The Castle Practice, in Central Street, is expected to be closed until Wednesday morning while the situation is dealt with.

It is understood the clean is being carried out as a ‘precautionary’ measure.

The Ludgershall facility is one of two under the 'Castle Practice' banner, with the other located in Tidworth.

Staff have confirmed that the Tidworth practice is not affected and will remain open until 5.30pm as usual.

The shutdown comes after Andover Leisure Centre closed its doors on Sunday, after a visitor who briefly attended the facility on Saturday later tested positive for coronavirus.

The centre remained closed the entire day and was subject to a chemical clean during the evening, after which it reopened as planned on Monday.

As with the current situation in Ludgershall, the facility was closed as a precautionary measure.
