A MAN who performed a wheelie on a motorbike outside Amesbury police station has been arrested after failing a roadside drug test.

Police say they were alerted to a high powered motorbike being ridden dangerously outside the town’s police station on Friday.

Officers looked outside to see a motorcyclist performing a wheelie on the A345 Salisbury Road.

One officer pursued the man on the bike and stopped him a short while later.

A man in his 20s from Durrington was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, no insurance, no MOT and failing a roadside drug test.

The motorbike was also seized. Police say enquiries are ongoing.
