POLICE cautioned half a dozen drivers for driving too fast on a rural road near Andover yesterday as part of a crackdown on speeding.
Officers say they had been out in the Collingbournes on Wednesday afternoon, advising motorists of their speed and reporting those breaking the limit.
Their presence was in response to recent complaints from residents about drivers speeding.
In total, police say that six traffic offence reports were handed out to motorists driving at excessive speed on a 30mph road.
One ticket was also given to a driver who was behind the wheel whilst not wearing a seatbelt.
A message shared by Amesbury Police on Facebook read: “We are committed to reducing road traffic related incidents and excessive speed is a large factor in these offences.”
