ANDOVER'S two McDonald's outlets could be less than a month away from reopening after the fast food chain revealed its coronavirus recovery plan.
McDonald's say that they aim to open all drive-thru outlets across the UK and Ireland by early June.
This will include the two sites in Andover, on Weyhill Road and New Street.
It is believed restaurants will remain closed for eating in for the time being.
But, there's a catch. There will be a limited menu, a maximum spend of £25 per order or per car, and contactless payments will be encouraged.
However, there could be quite a wait when the time does come. Last week, rivals KFC opened its drive-thru at Basingstoke's Leisure Park, prompting massive queues and long waits.
Meanwhile, the McDonald's outlet right next door lay empty.
The American fast food chain revealed previously that neither of Andover's sites were among the 15 restaurants to be offering delivery-only, or the 30 drive-thrus that will be reopening next week.
They also warned customers that service "will not be as quick as you might be used to".
McDonald's told the BBC: "During our pilot phases, while we test our new safety procedures, we will temporarily limit order sizes to allow us to meet customer demand as we will operate with fewer employees in our kitchens to enable social distancing."
