A RURAL crime operation covering areas of Tidworth and Amesbury resulted in one arrest and two vehicles being seized last night.
Wiltshire police say they led a ‘large rural crime operation’ across several areas of the county, including Tidworth, Amesbury, Salisbury, Devizes, Wootton Bassett and more.
Officers from a range of teams, including Neighbourhood and Rural Crime teams, the Live Intelligence Cell and Special Ops, coordinated together and to focus on tackling offenders that commit crimes against the rural farming community
Two vehicles were seized, one suspected to be used in crime and another for no insurance.
One person was arrested for driving whilst unfit.
Police Sergeant Ellerby said: “Running operations such as these, and the resources we put into them shows how much we value our links with the rural farming community. We are determined to disrupt and prosecute those who target them.
“Please can I also just remind everyone that Quad bike theft is on the rise, so think about your security if you have them. Investing in a tracker and recording the serial number is essential. Thank you for the support.”
