Wetherspoons pubs are known for their cheap priced drinks and food and unique history buildings but it is hard to know which ones are the best.

Wetherspoons has long been a spot of choice for people from all walks of life including students and retirees.

Even though most of the pubs have almost identical menus their TripAdvisor reviews are worlds apart.

We've ranked all the Wetherspoons near you so that you know which ones to look out for, and which ones to avoid.

The pubs are ranked by by star rating, and then by the number of reviews the pub has had.

For example if two pubs have a four star rating, but one has more reviews than the other, then the one with the most reviews gets a higher rating.

At the bottom of the list is The Angel in Basingstoke.

The pub which is located in Festival Place is not very popular on TripAdvisor.

6. The Ivy House, Alton

Trip Advisor rating - 3 stars out of 368 reviews

The Ivy House, at the west end of High Street, is a grade II listed building.

The Ivy House is one of several 18th-century buildings in High Street although the building isn’t ivy-clad anymore.

Doc D on TripAdvisor was very unhappy with the service in their review they said: “This Wetherspoons has been in decline for a while, its a shame as its a nice spot but the staff are rude and lazy, the food is poorly cooked & comes out terrible. In the vicinity of Wetherspoons in the area, Aldershot achieves food presented as it should. Clearly the management here in Alton have given up.”

5. The Maidenhead Inn, Basingstoke

Trip Advisor rating – 3.5 stars out of 151 reviews

Andover Advertiser:

This relatively small pub is situated in the pedestrianised 'Top of Town' on Winchester street.

The long and narrow pub has a single bar, front, rear and downstairs area and a small rear beer garden/smoking area.

The last reviewer on Trip Advisor was concerned about the social distancing measures.

R0wnyp said: “I've been in this place on several occasions and it's the same low standard as ever. I'm the only one trying to order a drink but had to wait for the bar staff to finish their conversation about how hot it is! The woman who runs it thinks it's hers, the social distancing is a  joke, tables in the main walk ways and access routes, and if you want hot food, go elsewhere."

The usual low prices we’ve come to love together with the ease of at table ordering via the app and genuinely friendly staff. Well done; we will continue to return when staying in Newbury.”
