TEST Valley has the third lowest increase in Covid cases in Hampshire in the last 24 hours.

Public Health England figures - as recorded on the Government website - show that, as of 7pm yesterday, 12 more people in the Test Valley area, have tested positive for the virus in a 24 hour period.

It brings the areas total to 1,092 cases since the start of pandemic.

East Hampshire had the lowest increase with just 8 new positive cases and Hart saw an increase of 10.

Southampton saw the largest rise yesterday with 77 new cases.

In total 333 new positive cases have been recorded in Hampshire in a 24-hour period as of 7pm yesterday.

This brings the county's total to 15,162 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.

In Andover Tidworth and Ludgershall had the highest infections in the week to October 29.

Data shows there were a total of 27 cases reported - up 16 (145.5 per cent) from the week previously. This is a rolling rate of 149.3 and slightly above average nationally.

Andover Newbury Road had the lowest number of infections with three cases reported which was six less than the week previous and down by 66.7 per cent. This is a rolling rate of 39.1 and slightly lower than the average nationally. The figures come as testing increases across the county.

The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.
