A second snow warning has been issued in Andover for later this week.

After heavy flurries hit the town on Monday morning, the Met Office has issued a second warning for Wednesday and Thursday.

The yellow warning for snow and ice comes into effect at 10am on Wednesday, December 30, and expires at 6am on New Year's Eve.

The warning covers much of Southern England, from Birmingham down to the south coast and also South Wales.

The Met Office say that there is a small chance of disruption from snow and ice.

They added: "A spell of rain will move into southern Wales and England on Wednesday, turning to snow in places and leaving a risk of ice."

What to expect:

  • There is a slight chance that bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times
  • There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel
  • A slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
  • A small chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
