A NUMBER of bus drivers are off sick with coronavirus leading to cancelled services in Andover, the Advertiser can confirm.

Stagecoach refused to say how many employees have tested positive for the disease but said services would return to normal by Monday.

It comes as the number of coronavirus cases in Andover town centre doubled from 16 to 42 in the week leading up to Christmas, putting its rolling rate well above the national average.

New coronavirus cases have risen in all areas of the town with the exception of Charlton and the Bourne Valley which saw cases fall from eight to three in the same period.
