THE VACCINATION drive against coronavirus is going on top gear at The Lights theatre with most of the 80+ people in Andover now being jabbed.

Photos shared by campaigner Manuela Wahnon with The Advertiser shows the excellent works carried out by volunteers at The Lights.

Five Andover practices are working together to ensure the best rollout of vaccinations in the region.

Councillor Phil North has said the next priority is to vaccinate housebound patients.

“I’m not an NHS spokesperson but from conversations I’ve had with local NHS colleagues, I understand the vaccine rollout to Andover patients is going really well with the five Andover practices working together.

“There have been a couple of bumps in the road with delivery of vaccine, which I’ve raised with ministers, but I understand both care home residents and the over 80s cohorts have now all been vaccinated, save for a tiny bit of mopping up – with the next priority to vaccinate housebound patients.

“The Lights seems to be well on track to hitting the government target of vaccinating the first four priority cohorts by mid-February.

“My continued thanks go to our doctors, nurses, surgery staff and volunteers who are doing an incredible job.”
