Hampshire Police have been involved in pursuit of a man near South Wonston.
Officers had attempted to stop a car at around midday, which failed to stop before speeding off.
Residents reported that the police helicopter was seen circling the area after the pursuit, with police enquiries ongoing.
The pursuit began at around 12:05pm on Sunday, January 31, when officers attempted to stop a vehicle in Springdale Road, Kings Worthy. The vehicle failed to stop for them, leading to a police pursuit.
The chase continued into South Wonston, where the vehicle went off road. Reports by residents on social media suggest that the vehicle was a green Volkswagen Passat, being driven by a man in a goatee.
The pursuit then concluded, with a police helicopter from the National Police Air Service attending the scene. A police helicopter was later seen above Sutton Scotney and Whitchurch.
Hampshire Constabulary told the Advertiser that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
