ALMOST a year after the first coronavirus cases in the UK came to our attention, so much uncertainty remains.

When will lockdown end? When will the entire population be vaccinated? Will we ever get back to ‘normal’?

We asked the Gazette’s readers what they would ask Boris Johnson, if they could pose a question to the Prime Minister.

More than 50 people responded, keen to quiz the man in the top job.

Here are just five of the most popular queries - which we’ve asked No.10 on your behalf.

#1 Why didn’t you close our borders sooner?

Andover Advertiser:

This was by far the most popular question.

One commenter wrote:  “Why didn't you shut the borders last March. Would have saved so many lives !”

Another added: “He wanted Brexit to control our borders, yet why can’t he control them during a pandemic?”

#2 Why didn’t the initial lockdown begin earlier?

Andover Advertiser:

Many are wondering whether restrictions were introduced too slowly, giving false hope.

One reader said: “Why was there almost a 2 month gap between the first covid case in the UK and lockdown?”

#3 Why are some frontline workers not yet booked in for vaccinations?

Andover Advertiser:

One reader said: “When are key workers, teachers and  nursery workers going to get their vaccines, they are at work every day mixing!”

This was echoed by many others, also raising concerns about the vaccination priority lists.

#4 How have you been working with other countries during the pandemic?

Andover Advertiser:

Many of the questions revolved around how the Prime Minister has learned (or not) from the steps taken elsewhere.

One wrote: “Why don't you just copy everything Nicola Sturgeon does, when she does it, instead of 3 weeks later when it's too late?”

Another added: “Why didn’t you follow or discuss other countries, such as Australia or New Zealand? Are you too prideful?”

*Others took a  more humorous approach…*

#5 Who’s your hairdresser?

Andover Advertiser:

It was one of the most popular questions by far.

Boris Johnson has previously been good-humoured when questioned about his infamous hair - but LOTS of our readers wanted to know, who styles it?
