Ban after fleeing crash scene

A MAN has been given a four-figure fine after he crashed into an ambulance and drove off.

Marcus John Tyler was behind the wheel of a black Audi on February 19 - the height of the third Covid lockdown - when it smashed into an ambulance on the A3093, and failed to stop.

The 23-year-old was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without due care and attention.

At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Thursday (May 27), Tyler pleaded guilty to both charges.

He was banned from driving for six months and fined a total of £1,333.

Tyler, of Ribble Court, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £133 and costs of £85.

A303 drink driver fined £200

A MAN who admitted drink driving on the A303 has been handed a fine and driving ban.

Russell George Wincott, of Bedser Square, was behind the wheel of a Renault Megan on January 10 when he was over the drink drive limit.

A blood test revealed he had 151 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - where the legal limit is 80.

Appearing before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, the 33-year-old was fined £200 and banned from driving for 19 months.

He must also pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £40.

Man assaulted woman twice

AN ANDOVER man has been given a community order after assaulting a woman in Salisbury twice.

Fritz Domo-Ong Ceniza, of Genoa Court, admitted the assaults, which occurred on December 15 and 16.

The 44-year-old was given a twelve month community order at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court earlier on May 25.

He must take part in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and 80 hours of unpaid work over the next year.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £85.

Temporary ban

A MAN has temporarily been banned from driving after he admitted driving whilst drunk and high.

Liam Martin Bean, of Lower Link in St Mary Bourne, was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Corsa on December 12, 2020, on the B3051 in Ashford Hill whilst over the drink-drive limit.

A blood test showed he had 117 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - where the legal limit is 80.

It also showed the presence of benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of cocaine.

At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 27, the 20-year-old was given an interim driving disqualification whilst the case is dealt with and was released on unconditional bail ahead of another court hearing on July 14, for a pre-sentence report.
