An Andover man is to stand trial, accused of driving without due care and attention after an incident in which a lorry blocked the A34 last year.
Jaroslaw Andrzej Kozlowski, of Roman Way, is charged with driving without due care and attention while driving a HGV on the A34 near Highclere on December 4, 2020. Court documents state that the 49-year-old is accused of having failed to notice a broken down vehicle on the road ahead of him, hitting the vehicle without having attempted to brake or steer to prevent a collision.
Subsequently, the HGV is said to have tipped over and blocked the southbound carriageway of the A34 for a number of hours while the recovery of the vehicle took place.
Kozlowski pleaded not guilty to the charge at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on June 28, 2021, with a trial date set for later this year. He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on September 6, 2021 where he will be tried.
