WITH England now the bookies favourites to go all the way in the Euros, The Advertiser takes a look at some of the best pubs in Andover to watch England v Ukraine.
Over 20 million people watched the last game and the pubs are expected to be rammed for the crunch match at 8pm.
Andover New Street FC Social Club – Foxcotte Lane
This family favourite is one of the places to be in Andover this Saturday. The large club with be showing the football on projectors and offers very reasonable prices with the knowledge that you are contributing to the running of the football club.
Anton Arms - Salisbury Road
This cosy pub has a bar with pool table, plus lounge and dining area for burgers and steaks, in a red-brick 1930s layout. It has a front facing beer garden and many drinks to choose from, but get down early to secure a seat if you can.
The Chestnut Tree – Weyhill Road
The Chestnut Tree is pulling out all the stops for Saturday with a huge beer garden with big TVs outside. The garden has huge umbrellas to shield punters from potential rain so there is no excuse for absentees.
The Eagle Inn – Abbotts Ann
This beautiful pub is located in leafy Abbotts Ann. It is famed for its local ale selection and homemade stone baked pizzas so a pizza and pint whilst watching the game could be the order of the day.
The Foresters Arms – London Street
This classic no frills pub has a varied bar that serves a variety of drinks and is shows every Euros game. Expect it to be rowdy come kick of time on Saturday.
Crook & Shears – Upper Clatford
The Crook & Shears is a beautiful Thatched 17th-century inn with a rustic décor, pub garden and homestyle food. A proper traditional pub, it serves old favourites including pie and mash and fish and chips, the perfect accompaniment to the football.
The Queen Charlotte Inn – London Road
The pub is hosting a live music gig for the first time in a over a year with a band playing before the football. A classic and unpretentious pub, it is sure to have a great atmosphere for the football serving good quality beer at affordable prices.
