Entries coming in for Reducing your Carbon Footprint Award
The award, aimed at businesses who are cutting their carbon footprint or enabling others to do so, is the newest of the seven categories in this year’s Test Valley Business Awards. It is sponsored by Test Valley Borough Council.
Any business that is making an effort - large or small - to help reduce carbon emissions should enter and take advantage of the growing public interest surrounding the lead up to COP 26 (26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties) in Glasgow, in November this year.
Test Valley Borough Council's Economic Development and Tourism Portfolio Holder, Cllr. David Drew commented: “Test Valley Borough Council’s comprehensive Climate Emergency Action Plan refers to supporting businesses.
“Many local businesses are involved in every aspect of carbon reduction. This new award will shine a light on businesses trading in Test Valley which are not only reducing their own carbon footprint but also enabling others to do so.
“If your firm has been making an impact on carbon reduction, or any other aspect of the climate emergency, then do please enter. The Test Valley Business Awards are easy and free to enter. For more details, please see the website at: www.tvbawards.org.uk ”
Richard Hall, Future South Programme Manager, said; “The Greentech team have worked with Test Valley Borough Council's Economic Development team for the last 2 years in order to promote carbon reduction amongst the business community in the area.
Progress so far has been very encouraging, and the Awards are another positive step forward. We are delighted to be involved in this initiative.” Greentech South are working on two European Fund projects to support Small and Medium Sized Enterprises to reduce CO2 emissions and move towards a zero-carbon economy.
