A POPULAR supermarket worker has died in hospital twelve days after he was attacked outside his store. 

Tesco employee John Carroll, described as “loved by all who knew him”, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, from a serious head injury.

He was on shift at the Tesco Extra on River Way on Thursday, July 29, when he was knocked to the ground by a single punch, a court heard earlier this month. 

A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
