A Thruxton man has been acquitted of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.

Gary Wayne Collins, of Village Street, had been charged with having a quantity of the drug in his possession at Roxeth Hill, Harrow on June 26, 2021. The 38-year-old appeared before Willesden Magistrates’ Court on June 28, where he was sent for trial at Harrow Crown Court on July 26, 2021.

Willesden Magistrates’ Court granted Collins bail, subject to conditions. He was to be electronically monitored, with a curfew between 9pm and 5am each day. He was also excluded from entering within the M25 except for seeing his solicitors for a pre-arranged appointment, or to attend court.

He also had to sleep each night at his Village Street address in Hampshire, and was forbidden from contacting co-defendants.

However, before the trial took place, prosecutors chose to administratively discontinue proceedings against Collins on July 20, acquitting him of the charge laid against him.
