A man accused of driving “inappropriately” for weather conditions, causing his vehicle to slide into oncoming traffic and cause a head-on collision will appear in court next month.

Ryan Sterrett was allegedly behind the wheel of an Audi on November 6, 2019, when he was involved in the head-on crash on the A343 in Hurstbourne Tarrant.

The 21-year-old, of Swinton Barracks, Perham Down, was charged with driving without due care and attention, and driving without insurance.

Sterrett, whose case was adjourned several times due to the Covid situation, was due to appear at traffic court in Aldershot on Monday, but the court was cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The case is next due before Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on October 4.

A man will stand trial after being accused of harassment in Andover.

Eric Ryan Jones, of Western Way in Basingstoke, has been charged with pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a man between April 20 and July 29.

The prosecution claim that on multiple occasions Jones spat on the front door of the complainant.

The 24-year-old, who pleaded not guilty at an earlier hearing, will stand trial at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on March 18, 2022.

He has been released on conditional bail.

A man has denied assaulting three police officers in Andover.

Marcin Roman Bartczak, of Freemantle Close in Basingstoke, is accused of assaulting PCSO Lee Gardner, PC Annabelle Watson and PC Kieran Holmes in Andover on June 25.

He entered not guilty pleas at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week.

The 36-year-old will face trial at the same court on April 4, 2022, and has been remanded on conditional bail.

An Andover woman has been fined after admitting driving without insurance.

Sam Angus Messer, of Eastfield Road, admitted being behind the wheel of a Skoda Fabia on Salisbury Road without insurance on November 28, 2020.

The 29-year-old was fined £320, and banned from driving for six months due to repeat offending. She was was further ordered to pay £110 in costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

Messer was given no separate penalty for not having a valid MOT certificate for the vehicle.
