TWO Girlguiding members who recently completed a fundraising walk for Andover food bank have dropped off their donations.
As previously reported, Lauren Farrelly and Freya Hart, both 16, of 1st Andover Rangers, walked five laps round Charlton Lakes in August to raise funds.
Freya said: “It means a chance to give back and help people. But we are also raising awareness that people still need the foodbank, and it needs donations of money and food to keep open and running.”
Lauren added: “It’s really important to us to help our community in anyway possible, so fundraising is an opportunity to give back to those who need help most.”
The girls set out with an aim of raising £300, but were able to get their total up to more than £500.
Now, they have purchased a variety of food needed by the food bank, and dropped it off along with the remaining money.
