THE health group responsible for Covid vaccinations in Andover has assured residents that "extra clinics" will be announced soon, following concerns about queues through the Chantry Centre on Friday.
Dozens of residents headed out to receive their jab on Friday (September 22), at a drop-in clinic between 9am and 12pm, but some reportedly left after being forced to join a major queue.
Responding to concerns raised, Dr Andy Baring, strategy clinical director at the Andover Primary Care Network, said: “Getting the Covid ‘booster’ jab is so important, and so it was great to be able to protect so many people today [Friday].
"However, we know that the high demand meant some people had a long wait, which isn’t what we wanted to see.
"We will be running extra clinics, so everyone will be able to get their jab and help keep them - and their loved ones - safe.”
