A VEHICLE has been left “severely” damaged after catching fire on Red Lion Lane in Overton this morning.
Overton firefighters were called out at 9:35 this morning, Thursday, November 18 after reports of a vehicle on fire.
The car involved in the incident was severely damaged in the blaze.
The fire was extinguished using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel.
A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Overton firefighters were called out at 9:35 this morning following a vehicle fire on Red Lion Lane.
“The car was severely damaged in the blaze which was extinguished using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel.
“Hampshire Constabulary officers were in attendance to manage the traffic.
“The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service crew left the scene at 10:01."
Hampshire police were on scene to manage the traffic and rescue services left the scene just after 10am.
Overton Fire Station posted on Facebook: "We we’re called to a car fire in the High Street outside the Red Lion in Overton this morning. 2 x Breathing apparatus and 1 x hose reel jet used to extinguish the fire."
