THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow in Andover, as Storm Arwen hit the UK.

The yellow weather warning comes into force at midnight tonight, and remains in plkac euntil 10am on Saturday, November 27. 

Whilst most areas will see spells of rain there is a small chance of this turning to snow on Saturday morning leading to some disruption.

Temperatures are set to drop as low as -5C in the town.

What to expect - according to the Met Office 

  • There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel
  • There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off
  • There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected

A further yellow weather warning for wind is also in place, between 12am and 6pm on Saturday. 

High winds may cause some travel disruption and damage, and residents are warned to take care when making essential journies, and prepare for power cuts in some areas.
