A BARGAIN goods shop in Andover town centre will no longer be closing down, the Advertiser can reveal.
As previously reported, the Poundstretcher store, located in the Chantry Centre, put up signs in July stating “store closing”, with claims online that the store could close by the end of the month.
However, the chain did not respond to the Advertiser’s requests for comment, and the store remained open.
Earlier this month, the signs were removed from the windows, and a member of staff in the shop confirmed that employees were told the store would no longer be closing down.
The Chantry Centre is owned by Test Valley Borough Council.
A council spokesperson added: “TVBC has received no notification to inform us that Poundstretcher intend on leaving the Chantry Centre.”
