Fine not paid

AN ANDOVER woman failed to pay a fine imposed by a court last year.

Carole Barbara Collins, of Venice Court, Roman Way, was instructed to pay £175 on June 8 2020.

However, the fine remained outstanding and, on January 4, Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court issued a summons, instructing that the 59-year-old to pay the amount of £175.

Door damaged

A MAN has been handed a 13-week prison sentence after damaging property in Andover and assaulting three police constables.

On January 5 at Basingstoke Magistrates Court, Luke Mark Miles, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to damaging a door to a property owned by charity Two Saints in Andover on January 3, and to causing harassment to a woman.

In addition, on January 3 and 4, 2022, he assaulted PC Simon Pascoe, PC Michael Rhodes and PC Callum Wagner. He pleaded guilty and was given a series of concurrent 13 week prison sentences.

The 28-year-old must also pay a surcharge of £128.

Rail fare dodge

AN ANDOVER man who dodged a rail fare at Trowbridge has been forced to pay out nearly 40 times the cost of the ticket.

Lewis James Farr, of Leigh Road, travelled via Great Western Railway on September 24 2021, without paying for his £17.30 ticket.

The charge was proved in the 22-year-old’s absence at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on January 7, and a fine of £440 was handed to Farr.

In addition, he must pay compensation of £17.30, a surcharge of £44 and costs of £180, making a total of £681.30.

Employee theft

A HERMES employee stole three bottles of high-end perfume and an Xbox controller from a depot.

Appearing at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on January 7, Michael Andrew Dennis of Nutbane Close, Andover, was fined £200 for the theft, which took place in Bridgend Wales on November 11, 2020.

The 39-year-old must also pay costs of £85, a surcharge of £34 and compensation of £50, making a total of £369.

No insurance

THE case of an Andover man accused of driving in the town without insurance has been adjourned.

Seyram Kutsienyo, of Rowan Way, is accused of driving a Toyota Auris in Winchester on December 15, 2020, without relevant insurance.

The 41-year-old was due to appear at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on January 5, 2022, but ‘due to the situation with Covid-19’ the case was adjourned to March 30 at the same court.

Disorderly actions

THREE men from Tidworth have each been forced to pay more than £150 each for disorderly behaviour in the town on December 17 2021.

Jason David Naylor, 48, of Station Road, alongside Paul Lachlan Evans, 64, and James Paul Evans, 33, both of Pennings Road, ‘used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment’.

The trio appeared at South East Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court on January 10.

They were each handed an £80 fine as well as ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £50 in costs, making a total of £164 each.

No insurance

AN ANDOVER man who is accused of driving in the town without insurance has had his case adjourned.

Brighton Magreater Masendu, of Suffolk Road, allegedly drove a Cheverolet Kalos along Winchester Road without relevant insurance on January 5 2020.

He denied the offence, pleading not guilty on April 27 2020

The 39-year-old was due to appear at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 4, but ‘due to the situation surrounding Covid-19’ it was adjourned.

It will now be heard at the same court on March 29 2022.
