ANDOVER residents can enjoy the town’s new burger bar in even more ways, as it joins JustEat two months into its whirlwind journey.

Stax and Snax launched at Walworth Business Park at the start of November 2021, and owner Fevzi Gungor told the Advertiser the team has been “incredibly busy” since opening.

“It’s been very busy, especially the first three weeks. We were queued out the door!” he said.

“Covid also made things stressful, that’s why our opening period took so long.

“It’s been so exciting, how busy it’s been, but as a team we weren’t ready for that popularity. We’re getting 200-250 orders a day and it’s very tiring!”

The 41-year-old, who lives in London but plans to move with his family to Andover soon, said that he believes the popularity of his restaurant to be down to it’s handy location, eye-catching decor, and quality food.

“There’s great parking, and the image and logo has a sort of franchise feel,” he said

“Our burgers are homemade, and they don’t go in the freezer, and the portions are proper adult sizes! We have a lot of different flavours of milkshakes that you can’t find in most places.”

Talking about how the concept came about, he continued: “I wanted to move out of London, and I have a couple of friends who live here and have set up businesses here.

“I have been in the catering trade for more than 20 years, working in family breakfast cafes.

“I wanted to do a breakfast cafe in the morning and burger bar in the evening, but the burgers, stax, have taken off so much that we haven;t got round to the breakfast, the snax, part yet!”

The team has been very popular on its Instagram page, and the 9 to 10 employees are all from Andover, many of them still at school.

Customers can sit in, take away, click and collect or order through Deliveroo or Just Eat deliver apps.

Fevzi says the most popular items are the Say Cheese burger, and the Nashville Chicken burger which I tried and thought was delicious - a perfect level of spiciness and packed with flavour.

Now that things have settled down a little, Fevzi says he wants to continue making improvements.

As well as adding breakfast foods, he hopes to expands to 7 days opening, and perhaps even look at franchising in the future.

He also wants to run an offer, to thank everyone who has supported Stax and Snax over its first three months.

“We want to say thank you to the public who have been so patient. I know some people were disappointed that they couldn’t get certain things when we would run out in those first few weeks, but we are ready this time, so keep an eye on our Instagram!”
