AN ANDOVER businesswoman has donated her winnings from the recent festive window competition to a local hospice.

Georgina Roberts from independent shop Mooch was announced winner of the Christmas Window Display Competition 2021 in December by InAndover from Andover BID.

Georgina was presented a beautiful bouquet of flowers by Andover’s Gallaghers Florist, along with a certificate and a voucher for drinks at the Gin Palace donated by local business Wessex Spirits.

In addition, a cheque for £150 is donated by Andover BID to be donated to the local charity of choice by the selected winner.

This year, Georgina chose for her prize to be donated to local charity, The Countess of Brecknock Hospice.

Georgina said: “We were delighted to have won the window competition again this year. When we realised that part of the prize from Andover BID was a cash donation that we could donate to a local charity of our choice, we had no hesitation in nominating the hospice.

“They do such fantastic work locally, and many of our customers have had support from them, so it was an easy decision.”

A representative from the hospice added: ‘We are so grateful to Georgina and Mooch. It is through donations such as this and the generosity of local people and businesses that we can exist and do our vital work.”

Eleven town centre businesses entered the competition at Christmas, which had both a public and physical judging panel this year.
