A POPULAR pianist and vocalist is set to perform in Andover later this month.

The exciting evening of music will take place at the Fairground Hall, Weyhill on Thursday, February 17.

The concert will be popular pianist and vocalist Simon Woodley’s first appearance at the Andover venue.

Simon, from Christchurch in Dorset, has been know to entertain in hotels and restaurants all across the south coast.

He is currently resident pianist at Harbour Heights Hotel in Sandbanks.

Simon is also a favoured wedding pianist and is highly recommended by some of the south’s most notable wedding venues.

With a highly varied repertoire, he creates the perfect atmosphere for any occasion.

As well as being classically trained, his programmes include a wide range of music to please most tastes and will be a great evening for audiences to sit back and enjoy.

The concert, staged by WEOS the Weyhill electronic organ society, commences at 7.30 pm (doors open at 7 pm) and tickets are available on the door at £6.

The society was formed in April 2002 on the initiative of local resident, Terry Trevett (the current secretary).

It is the only such club in the Andover area or within the Test Valley Borough.

A small committee was formed and the society’s inaugural concert, featuring international concert organist Nicholas Martin, was held on 18 July, 2002.

The event attracted a capacity audience at The Fairground Hall, Weyhill, including Tony and Rita Gentle. Thanks to the hard work of the committee and a few willing volunteers, combined with the support and co-operation of several local organisations, it was clear the enterprise had been worthwhile.
