A textiles and embroideries exhibition has begun in Whitchurch.

Basingstoke Creative Stitchers’ group is organising the exhibition ‘Picking up the Thread’ at Whitchurch Silk Mill that features its members from beginners to experts.

The exhibition will be open till March 27.

This is the 25th anniversary of the group and to celebrate the occasion, members have created works which include silver thread.

A spokesperson for Basingstoke Creative Stitchers said over 30 pieces with silver are on display as well as a wide range of other displays.

Whitchurch Silk Mill is open from Tuesday to Sunday 10.30am to 5pm.

Originally known as Basingstoke Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild, the group reformed in 2021 to become Basingstoke Creative Stitchers.

It hosts a series of talks and workshops as well as members’ days. Meetings take place on the fourth Thursday of every month at Popley Fields Community Centre, Basingstoke. For more information, contact darlingtonejp@hotmail.com.
