AN ANDOVER fraudster who stole a bank card and £6 in change will be sentenced next month.

Illona Nielsen, of Tovey Court, took the card and the change from a bag belonging to Loretta Earley on November 24, last year.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court she admitted to theft and fraud by false representation.

She will also be sentenced on the same day having pleaded guilty to assaulting police officers Mark Potter and Melody Kness on January 27. She also stole three bottles of vodka worth £57 from Sainsburys.

The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report and the 24-year-old will appear at court on March 21.

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a man alleged to have driven while disqualified on the A303.

Andrius Lape, 31 and of Southend, Essex, was spotted on the A303 at Weyhill on January 24 driving while disqualified.

Magistrates in Basingstoke have issued a warrant for his arrest.

AN ANDOVER man will go before a judge accused of attacking a mental health practitioner in Basingstoke.

James Chandler, of Rack Close, is alleged to have assaulted senior mental health practitioner Oscar Karumazondo at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital on February 13.

The 41-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court where the case was sent to Winchester Crown Court.

Chandler was remanded in custody following the hearing.

THE case of an Andover man accused of possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply has been sent to crown court.

Benjamin Ganley, of Albany Road, is alleged to have been in possession of 85.9 grams of herbal cannabis and 79 capsules of cannabis on March 12, 2020, with intent to supply.

The 24-year-old is also said to have been in possession of £2,195.65, which is alleged to be criminal property.

He will now appear before Winchester Crown Court on March 16.

AN ANDOVER man who damaged police property worth £5.68 has been fined.

Brett Sheehan-Malcolm, of Ribble Court, damaged a Codes of Practice Book belonging to Hampshire Constabulary on August 29, last year.

The 19-year-old admitted the offence at Basingstoke Magistrates Court. He was fined £50 and must pay £5.38 in compensation, along with £40 court charges and a £55 victim surcharge.
