A FREEFOLK man who was concerned in the supply of a Class B drug and found in possession of others has been told to carry out unpaid work.

Edward Afentakis, 20, was concerned in the supply of ketamine between December 10, 2019, and February 16, 2020, in Overton.

On February 16, 2020, he was also caught in the village with a quantity of cocaine, cannabis resin and Etizolam.

He indicated guilty pleas to all the offences in January and has now been ordered to carry out 240 hours unpaid work in the next 12 months.

Afentakis must also complete up to 20 days rehabilitation, pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

A POLISH man who was caught over the drink drive limit in Andover has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

Piotr Rafal Wokan, 40, was spotted on High Street, driving a grey Ford while over the limit. He had 115 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood – the legal limit is 80.

Wokan, of Tarnow, in Poland, previously pleaded not guilty to the offence, but changed his plea to guilty.

He was banned from driving for 14 months and fined £162. He must also pay £100 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

A MAN accused of causing more than £350 of damage to an Audi A3 has had his case dismissed.

Jason David Naylor was accused of damaging the 2007-plate car on April 6, in Tidworth. It is said that Naylor, of Station Road in Tidworth, caused damage to the value of £363.60 to the roof of the car.

The 48-year-old had denied the charge and was due to stand trial at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court, but the case was dismissed.

AN ANDOVER man has been fined for a racially aggravated incident in Basingstoke last year.

Alexander Broatch, 25 and of Oldenburg Close, was fined £385 for racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress - words/writing. Broatch admitted to the incident which took place on or about July 17, 2021.

Another charge of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress was withdrawn in favour the racially aggravated offence.

Broatch must also pay £50 compensation to his victim Alexander Weaver, along with £85 court costs and a £39 victim surcharge.

AN ANDOVER woman has been fined for being in possession of cannabis plants.

Emma Cashmore, of Shepherds Row, was found in possession of four small cannabis plants on June 4, last year, in the town.

The 33-year-old admitted possessing a controlled drug of Class B during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

She was fined £80 and told to pay £40 court costs, along with a £34 victim surcharge.

Forfeiture and destruction of the cannabis plants was ordered.
