ANDOVER Chamber Choir will be supporting the town’s I Can Therapy Centre with its upcoming spring concert.

The concert, entitled ‘From dawn to dusk’ will be the Andover Chamber Choir’s first appearance since Covid temporarily suspended live performances and will also be their first appearance under their new name.

It will take place at St Michael and All Angel’s Church, Colebrook Way, on Saturday, April 2.

Musical director Andrew Wyndham said: “This is a lovely programme of mainly sacred music spanning over five hundred year and charting a course through a single day, from the darkness before dawn to sunset. Composers range from Thomas Tallis to John Rutter.”

For a number of years, the Andover Chamber Choir has delivered local concerts in the town in aid of local charities and this year is the turn of local charity Valley Leisure, specifically the I Can Therapy Centre.

Valley Leisure established the I Can Therapy Centre in 2017 and moved into Andover town centre in April 2021. A range of specially adapted power assisted exercise equipment is available at the centre and enables users to move more and feel better which is the core mission for the charity.

Veronica Bacon, Andover Chamber Choir member and I Can Therapy Centre client, has been using the centre since 2018 and said: “The I Can Therapy Centre is a really special place. Having been trying to cope with health problems for many years I reluctantly started there thinking that I couldn’t cope but with the support of the wonderful team at I Can, I thought I might be able to do this, and now I can confidently say I have maintained and improved my mobility and I am feeling better.

“As a member of the Andover Chamber Choir, we always like to do what we can to support local charities and organisations and this year we are delighted to be supporting Valley Leisure’s I Can Therapy Centre as they support so many people to move and mobilise which keeps people independent and feeling good.”
