MAGISTRATES have disqualified an Andover man after he was caught behind the wheel while over the drug drive limit.
Ben Lucas, of Marchant Road, was stopped on Enham Lane driving a BMW on February 1, last year. When tested he had 248 ug/L of Benzoylecgonine - the main metabolite of cocaine – in his blood. The legal limit is 50.
He previously pleaded not guilty to the offence but changed his plea during a hearing at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court.
The 39-year-old was sentenced in absence and was banned from driving for two years. He must also pay £100 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
