THE Met office has issued a yellow weather warning as parts of the south of England experiences high winds.

The warning, which covers Andover, says residents should expect "gusty winds through Thursday with some disruption in places". 

It came into force at 9.54am on Thursday (April 7) and will remain in place until 6pm.

What to expect

  • Some delays to road, rail and air transport are likely
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

Gusts of 45-50 mph are developing and a few places are seeing gusts around 55 mph. Winds will ease from the west from later in the afternoon.
